Welcome to the Huggy Bears!  In the Huggy Bear room, we feel it is important to nurture your child’s natural curiosity as well as their emotional well-being.  We will provide your child with a warm, nurturing environment and quality care that you and your child deserve.

As a Huggy Bear, your child will be engaged in activities that allow him/her to learn through play and personal exploration.  The goals of these activities are to maintain and build upon the skills that they have already achieved in the Snuggly Bear room.  Your child will be given the opportunity to investigate a variety of textures through sensory exploration, engage in outdoor play, reach the walking milestone through gross motor activities, listen to fun and creative stories to encourage language skills and hands-on activities to increase cognitive skills.

In the Huggy Bear room, the center provides whole milk for your child during lunch after you have transitioned him/her at home.  We will also transition children from a bottle to a sippy cup.  After your child reaches one year old and is confidently walking, he or she will be transitioned from napping in a crib to napping on a cot.  When ready, we will transition your child from a low-chair to sitting in a small chair at a low table.  We will also transition your child from multiple naps a day to a single nap when he/she is ready.
