I’m Jeffrey Volk, and along with my wife, Randi, own and operate My Special Spot.  The first thing I’d like you to know is that we operate our center very differently than most centers.  We run our center as parents.  Every decision we make, every policy we institute is based on what we would want or do for our own children.  And as far as we are concerned, all the children here at MSS are our children.

One important example of this philosophy is that all our class student-to-teacher ratios are better than what’s required by the state of NJ.  That’s because as parents, Randi and I want more eyes watching our children, more hands available to help our children and more individualized attention.  In our mind, it’s just the right thing to do.

Just like you, we are committed to your child’s growth and development as well as fostering their love of learning.

Our center, conveniently located in Cedar Knolls NJ, is open Monday through Friday from 7:15 AM to 6:15 PM year round.  We proudly offer a variety of programs convenient for parents who desire the advantages of a high-quality preschool education for their children.  At the same time, we offer an amazing variety of enrichment activities such as Dance, CompuChild, Merry Musicians, Yoga, Soccer, Travelin’ Tumblers, Stretch the Silly Man, Puppet Shows, Kidz In The Kitchen and DJ & The Jam Cats, just to name a few.  There are no additional charges for any of our enrichment activities.  Our center provides a developmentally appropriate curriculum and programs for children six weeks to six years of age as well as a fantastic summer camp program.  We nurture your child in a loving and safe environment with experiences that will enhance their social and emotional development as well as have them fully prepared for kindergarten and beyond.

My Special Spot is carefully staffed with degreed teachers who provide children with specifically planned educational and developmental programs, including STEAM learning (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) that meet the needs of each child.  Our custom designed building was planned to provide a safe, healthy, stimulating and fun environment. 

As parents, we devote a lot of time and effort into making the right decisions for our children.  Before you make this important decision for your child, please come take a tour of our wonderful facility and allow me to explain to you what makes My Special Spot such a unique and, what we believe to be, one of the finest centers in the area.
